One day a week—Thursdays—my husband and I could do whatever or whomever we pleased. Protection was non-negotiable. And no matter what, we had to be home by midnight.
Jack was the one who wanted an open marriage, but we were supposed to keep things simple. No strings. No commitments. It seemed so easy… until it wasn’t.
Devilishly handsome Cole Blackwater was only supposed to be a fling, but everything about him made me feel alive. Wanted. Seen. When I realized he was my husband’s boss, I should have broken things off right then… but I didn’t.
One day a week, I could pretend that I was his and he was mine… until Cole wanted more.
But how could I decide between the man I’d promised to love, honor, and cherish, and the man who tempted me to break every single vow I’d made?

Candace Knoebel is a hopeless romantic with an affinity for whiskey and good music. Her love of words began when she met the boy who lived in the cupboard under the stairs. She's a self-proclaimed Lost Girl. Words are her mirror. With two completed series, her work ranges from paranormal to contemporary, all centered heavily around romance. Currently she lives in Florida with her husband and two children, and has just completed her thirteenth novel, The Taste of Her Words.
Corinne and Jack are nearing their ten year anniversary, and in recent months it seems as though they have begun to drift apart; gone are the days of snuggling on the couch, having date nights, or sharing meals together, their new normal is pretty much living separate lives. Which isn't really by Corinne's choice, she knew going into the marriage that Jack had a wandering eye, but she hoped being married would sway him from wandering, and now he has found a new way to get away with it... an open marriage. When he proposes the idea Corinne of course bucks against it, but in their marriage Jack gets what he wants no questions asked, and he wants this, so they agree on one night a week where they can see someone else. He of course is tickled to have the freedom to feed his cheating addiction, but Corinne has her doubts about how it will all play out... can she really do this, date another man one night a week?
Then with one little swipe on her phone she meets a gorgeous man that awakens the sleeping butterflies in her belly, and actually has her wanting to try out this open marriage thing; what could one night a week really hurt? But soon her standing Thursday night date with Cole starts to take on a whole new meaning, one that she finds herself longing for more and more. He makes her feel things she hasn't in a long time, and the more time she spends with him the harder it becomes to separate herself from him when she is back at home partaking in her married life. Eventually she knows there is going to be a breaking point, one that will lead her to choose one and walk away from the other... but which one will it be?
Ten Reasons to Stay is a stunning tale that will render you speechless, push your personal boundaries, and wreak serious havoc on your heart... this one completely wrecked me!! This isn't your typical marriage gone wrong tale; it's so much more than that, it's a tale about a woman who struggles to find her inner voice, she has lost her own identity in the last ten years, and become far too accepting of her husband's demands. At first I had my doubts about her being able to fully embrace the open marriage thing, because of how broken she was, but little by little I saw her become more brave, go after what she wanted, and it all became quite inspiring to watch unfold. I am sure some readers will have a hard time accepting the open marriage aspect, but without it this story would lose it's beauty, I encourage those readers to go with it, and see where it takes them... I am certain they will be surprised. I really enjoyed this first time read, there was so much to appreciate within the pages of this beautifully crafted tale, and so much to take away from it too! Highly recommend!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am leaving my honest opinion.
