Heavy is the head that inherits the crown.
The only thing on Daire Archer’s mind when she pulled a disappearing act on Christmas was proving she was worthy of being her father's daughter. She was born an Archer, which was a blessing and a curse, and Daire was determined to show everyone she deserved to carry the legacy that came with her name.
There is power in a name, and being an Archer meant Daire needed to do better, to be better. At least, that’s what she thought she needed, until a boy from nowhere—with a name that meant nothing—showed her that she was already pretty great just the way she was.
Campbell has always rejected everything concerning his maniacal father and his troubled past. When he left Nowhere, he was certain he wanted a nice, quiet life free from the only things he'd ever known: violence and bloodshed. He thought he needed to be a better man. He wondered if there was a kinder, gentler version of himself under his thick armor of scars and tattoos.
It wasn't until he started chasing Daire Archer all over hell and back that Campbell realized he needed to be a man who was better at being bad than everyone else in his troubled world.
Because now, he had a problematic princess to protect. One with an uncanny ability for finding trouble. Where Daire is concerned, being a good guy isn't necessary.

Jay Crownover
Jay Crownover is the international and multiple New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Marked Men Series, the Saints of Denver Series, the Point Series, the Breaking Point series, the Getaway series, the Loveless, Texas series and the Forever Marked series. Her books can be found translated into many different languages all around the world. She is a tattooed, crazy haired Colorado native who lives at the base of the Rockies with her awesome dogs. This is where she can frequently be found enjoying a cold beer and Taco Tuesdays. Jay is a self-declared music snob and outspoken book lover who is always looking for her next adventure, between the pages and on the road.
Daire is the princess of the Archer family, but lately she feels like she is undeserving of the title, like she's not meeting the expectations that go along with it. Then you add in the lingering guilt she carries from her brother's accident and it's safe to say the poor girl is lost, no longer the happy go lucky girl she use to be. She doesn't know where or who to turn to, so she does the one thing she thinks will fix everything... she leaves.
But her leaving doesn't bring the peace she hoped it would, it makes her even more miserable than before. Then she meets a wounded soul who mirrors some of the same grief she carries and it creates an unspeakable bond between them...one that might just change everything.
Son of a Gun brings us into the lives of two wounded souls who have lost their way, and as we see them come together we also see things in their lives start to fall into place, as if they weren't meant to be. But it's not without a bumps here and there. They are truly opposites in every sense of the word, which should mean that they should go their separate ways, but for some reason they can't seem to stay away. There's just something there between them that can't be ignored, and that something is going to be the one thing that finally makes them feel whole.
I loved every minute of this story, watching these two find their way to a happily ever after did my heart SO good. As I read their story my heart broke for them, for all they endured, but then I saw that little spark ignite between them and my hope soared. Ms. Crownover put everything she had into these pages, you could feel every ounce of it the whole way through. This is by far my favorite addition to the series... it's words packed powerful punch and it's characters stole my heart the moment I met them. Highly recommend!
