He was supposed to be my friend.
A distraction. A lie we both agreed to tell.

Riley Paige

Riley Paige enjoys long walks on the beach, reading romance novels at sunset, and spending time with her two children. After years of immersing herself in the world of romance, she now writes love stories full of emotion and heart, featuring swoony book boyfriends (and girlfriends). A Pacific Northwest girl at heart, her stories often include subtle nods to some of her favorite places and the breathtaking landscapes that inspire her.

My Review of Play Fake:

Sophie Prescott tried love and it didn't work, she came out on the bad side of it and she doesn't plan on ever letting that happen again. Beck Calder isn't looking for love, he tried his hand at it, and it failed miserably and he's still he's carrying the broken heart to prove it. Then one day their worlds collide, a friendship builds and their stances on love start to change a little too...

The pages of Play Fake will take you into the lives of two young people whom have had their brushes with love and found the unkind side of it. The side that has you never wanting to take a chance on it again and the side of it that leaves you completely guarded and waning to push others away when any inkling of feelings make an appearance. Then they meet one another in class one day and from that day on a friendship of sorts starts to take shape. As it builds they start to recognize themselves in one another, the heaviness they both carry and it bonds them. Their find their views on love and life are quite similar, they find an easy comfort with one another, and also a mutual trust. It's gift neither knew they needed, until they had it.

I loved watching this beautifully penned love story unfold, it was a sweet and heartfelt slow burn romance that I'm certain will stick with me for a while. I appreciated the time and care that went into each character and the approach that was taken to build their romance. So many times I read romances that make the steamier moments take the forefront and with this one I didn't get that, I felt like the budding romance took the lead and it was refreshing to read something different. If you enjoy slow burn romances than I have no doubt that you will love this one. Love takes time to build and this one is the perfect example of that! Highly recommend.

My Review of Broken Play:

Jaxson Montgomery has been in love with his best friend Madison Blake for years, but she has always kept him at an arm's length, never giving an inkling that she felt the same way. So he settled for her friendship...but one drunken phone call is about to change that.

Broken Play is a story second chances, healing, finding love, and taking chances. Jaxson knew the moment that he met Madison that she was the girl he wanted to hold his heart forever, but she didn't feel like she was the right girl to hold it. So she kept him in the friends zone, never giving much more than friend-like feelings to him. But he never waivered, he was always there for her, always offering support when she needed it and always tried to make her feel safe and that she could trust him in hopes she'd change her mind. And then one night she did...

This story is one of those that'll give your heartstrings a workout. With it's sensitive story line and a heroine that has seen her fair share of how unfair life can be, it makes it pretty impossible not to feel the emotions behind the words. It's a slow burn kind of romance, one that takes a lot of time and care to build, but I promise the end result is worth the wait. I really enjoyed what I found between the pages here, it was a very impressive first time read, one that left quite the mark! Highly recommend!

My Review of Red Zone:

Lyla Harding has heard all the stories about star quarterback Carter Hayes, knows he is quite popular with the ladies and often finds himself in trouble because of it. So learning that she has just been tasked with keeping him in line and trying to clean up his image is a little overwhelming, but it's a challenge that she wants to prove she can handle. There is nothing the charming troublesome quarterback can throw at her that she can't handle... or can he?

Between the pages of Red Zone you will find a heart-string tugging story of two souls who have been dealt more than their fair share of disappointments and losses in life. Our heroine Lyla lost her mother at a young age, deals with anxiety on a daily basis, and now has some new family drama in her life that's left her feeling like an afterthought. Carter lived in many foster homes growing up, often having to prove his self worth to others around him, and often left feeling unwanted. They are quite the perfect pairing, but things for them don't fall easily into place, it takes time for them to find their way and see the potential that lies between them.

From beginning to end this one kept me captivated and had me all in my feels, it was an emotional journey that I'm not likely to forget anytime soon. If you like sports romances than I think you should take a chance on this series, each title is written beautifully, tackles real life problems in a relatable way, and the characters are so perfectly drawn that they feel real, almost like friends or family. Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
