Ellie Sharpe is the good twin. Responsible, dependable, she’s a survivor. Jill, her flighty identical sister, is her opposite in all but appearance. But when media darling Luke Hamilton enters their family diner, Ellie seizes the opportunity and invites Jill, staging a meet-cute. Always put your best foot forward, right?
Marrying into the Hamilton family would solve their financial worries, but Ellie can’t help but feel jealous at the ensuing proposal. But when Jill falls in love with someone else, a last minute opportunity presents: Take her place at the altar with a twin-switch for the ages.
For Luke it’s simple: prove he’s not the untrustworthy playboy the media portrays, and cement his newest business initiative as a married man. For Jill, being arm candy is quid pro quo, a part she’d gladly play for the financial security to settle her family’s medical debts. But Ellie? Can she marry with the same calculated ease as her identical counterpart? Will Luke notice the difference between them or is the whirlwind courtship fast enough to blur most of the details? And what happens when Jill comes back? Will a twin by any other name taste as sweet?
Katie Frey
Katie Frey has spent the better part of her adult life in pursuit of her own happily ever after. Said pursuit involved international travel, several false starts and a few red herrings, before she moved from Canada to Switzerland. Once in the land of cheese and wine, she was quickly enchanted by both the mountains and the mountain men—one of the latter in particular!
She now lives in a small hamlet on the outskirts of Lausanne, where she mostly enjoys getting lost in the woods – but never so far as to not be found by her two little gremlin daughters, husband, and eleven free-range chickens. Grateful that her romantic misadventures gave her lots of fodder for her writing, she often disappears to write in local coffee shops. Any excuse to stay near the fresh croissants! Nearly Wed is her first work of commercially available fiction. Merci and Bon Appetit!
When it comes to looks the Sharpe sisters are identical, but when it comes to everything else they are complete opposites. Ellie is the shy, reserved quiet one, who prefers to keep to herself, while her sister Jill loves the limelight. Jill is bold, daring, and always gets her way no matter who she has to trample over to get it. That latter fact is about to come back and bite her in the rear...
When Jill meets media darling Luke Hamilton, all she seems to see is his wealth and what being seen with him can do for her image. So when he mentions needing a fake wife for the sake of business, she gladly signs herself up for the task, figuring its a way to get the media attention she craves, and the money to help her family find their way out of debt. But when the "I do" part comes around she begins to regret signing up for the task, she doesn't want to be with a man that doesn't love her, and besides she has met someone else. So her sister Ellie begins to see this as an opportunity to have everything she has ever wanted... all she has to do is pretend to be someone she is not. Which could be a lot of fun, or be the worse idea she has ever had...
Nearly Wed is a enchanting little tale that is bound to keep you mesmerized from start to finish. The dilemma these two sisters find themselves in is not ideal, but it winds up being the best thing to ever happen to them. It just requires a few what lies to pull it off! This one comes with a unique cast of characters that will steal your heart at first meeting. I loved them all, each brought something special to the pages, and managed to leave a little indent on my heart. The story they had to tell was engaging, humorous, mildly dramatic, emotional, romantic, and good for the heart. Highly recommend!
