S.A. Clayton lives in a small town outside of Toronto, Canada with her husband and her scary large collection of books that seem to take over every room.
She has worked on both sides of the publishing industry, both in a bookstore and for actual publishing companies. Although she loved both for different reasons, she found that writing was her true passion and has spent the last few years breaking into the industry as best she can.

Harper Stevens decided a long time ago that she wanted nothing to do with baseball players, because loving a man that loves the game will only end in heartbreak. She has the scars to prove it, as well as, a mountain of emotional baggage that has kept her from really living. Her father was a part of that world and she watched it take over his whole life and literally rip him from hers, and there is no way she can go through that again. Which is why she made the "no baseball players" rule for herself... but after meeting local star third baseman Josh Anderson she seems to need a little reminder of that rule!
He is everything she shouldn't want, and is a walking, talking reminder of the world she hates, but when he comes around she can't seem to convince herself of that fact.
Hard Ball is a emotionally charged slow burn romance that you leave you dying for more...literally! Harper has always wanted to find the forever kind of love, but she knew early on that it wouldn't be with a man that played the game that took her father from her. But then she unexpectedly meets the perfect guy, the only downside to him is he is a baseball player, and that for her is a deal breaker. But that doesn't stop him from trying to sneak past her defenses. The chemistry and attraction are certainly there, but Harper just can't get past the fact that he is a ball player and for him the game will always be number one in his life. And she won't play runner-up to the game.
This will they/won't they story will have you dying in anticipation throughout. It was evident that they would be good together, but with so much drama and old hurts standing in their way it lead me to wonder if that was just too much to overcome. I cannot wait to see how this one plays out, and see if Harper finally gets the happiness she deserves with the man she loves! Highly recommend this one, it's words will steal your heart and attention from the first page!
