Lex Martin is the USA Today bestselling author of Varsity Dads, Texas Nights, and the Dearest series. She writes contemporary romance novels, the steamy kind she hopes readers love but her parents avoid.

She’s always been obsessed with writing, starting in elementary school when she would pen short stories and make her father read them. (Afterward, he’d have to take her tests, but he was a good sport and did them without complaint.)

When Baylee finds herself in danger a friend suggests she hideout for a bit at her ex-boyfriends house, since he is no where near there and wouldn't mind if she stayed there. So she reluctantly agrees thinking it's the perfect place to lay low a while. But then the unexpected happens, Maverick decides to come home and recoup from an football injury and he's quite happy to find her playing house in his house. But she is determined to not let him back in again, the last time she did he broke every bit of her heart. But as danger lurks and Maverick becomes her safe place, old feelings start to stir and Baylee knows she is in trouble in more ways then one...

I absolutely loved this newest offering from Ms. Martin, her well penned words touched my heart and had me swooning the whole way through. There is just something about a protective hero that is determined to save the day that steals your heart and Maverick is one of those kind of hero's. He's one of my favorite characters from Ms. Martin to date, he'll have your heart at first glance. If you love small town romances with a touch of suspense than you have to read this one. It's one of those reads that is impossible to put down or forget when the last page finds you! Highly recommend!!
