It's release day for Fire Line by Maggie Gates!
Lennon's life hasn't been easy, it's toughened her, made her wary and untrusting, and led her close herself off from everyone. She has sky high walls around her heart and no one will ever get in... or will they?
The pages of Fire Line hold the story of a woman who has lost her faith in people, being able to trust them, or have meaningful connections with them. She depends on no one, always expects those around her to hurt her in one way or another, and never opens her heart to anyone. She did that once and will never do it again.
Meeting Carson James in that bar hallway was supposed to be a quick release of emotions and energy, nothing less, nothing more. But the next day she discovers their lives are now connected, she is the new chef hired to work at his family's ranch restaurant, and he is not too excited to see her. Mostly because he is not on board with the new changes that have come to his families ranch, and she is part of those changes...and from there things take a very heated and intense turn.
This is one of those stories that I started and wasn't sure I was going to like how it all played out, the characters didn't speak to me right away, and I wasn't so sure I would ever be able to connect to them. I didn't care for the way Carson treated Lennon at times and it made it hard for me to like him at first, but eventually he found a way into my good graces. With a little time and patience I was able to finally connect with these two and I enjoyed what they brough to the pages, their story a bit unique, but heartfelt and captivating like it's predecessors. If you like western romances and swoon-worthy cowboys then I highly suggest you meet the Griffith Brother, their stories are destined to make you blush.
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
