The pages of this beautifully constructed love story are bound to tear at your heartstrings, and it's characters will linger long after the last page finds you. These two had an instant connection, the kind of connection that you have no choice but to act on, for fear of regretting it if you don't. They burned hot, fell head over heels, and then life threw an unexpected obstacle at them, and that was it. Lark has done her best to move on, but it's a daily struggle to not let him invade her thoughts, or torture her battered heart. It has taken everything in her to move on without him, to realize that was all they had, there never be a future for them like she hoped. Little does she know she's about to get a second chance at that future... but will she take it?

Ah my poor heart, these two gave me hope, had me feelings all the feels, then broke me, and I was certain there was no fixing them... but I am glad I was wrong. This is by far my favorite read from this author to date, it's words just hit different than the others, resonated in a way that I cannot forget. If you like the romances that hurt a little to read, then you have to take a chance on this one... it'll hurt in the best possible way I promise! Highly recommend!
