My Review of Bastards and Scapegoats

Vera Garner's life has just been turned upside-down. Her mother's sudden marriage to a very wealthy man has brought a new step-dad into her life, as well as, a new step- grandfather... and a troublemaking step-uncle. For so long it was just the two of them, barely getting by, and now it's fancy houses, free college education, and lots of unreal expectations. The mother she knows is slowly slipping away from her, her new step-father driving a wedge between them, and she has never felt so alone.

That is until Hamilton comes wandering into her life, he is supposed to be her step-uncle, but he acts like anything but. He is a little older, constantly wreaking havoc on his families lives, and always has an agenda... and right now it happens to be spending every waking minute trying to lure Vera into his trap.

Between the pages of this novel readers will meet a young lady that has lost everything she has known in a mere few months. Her once loving and caring mother is becoming someone she doesn't recognize and is turning her back on Vera. This new life of theirs's is destroying them and Vera feels like she can trust no one around her, every has their secret agendas, and demands she keep up with appearances. But Hamilton promises he has her back, and just when she starts to trust him, he shows her a side of himself she never saw coming.

It was impossible not to feel for Vera and the disaster her mother drug her into. All she wanted was her normal life back, but with paparazzi lurking and everyone around her planning something it was impossible for her to feel safe. I cannot wait to see how the rest of this story unfolds and which side of it young Vera falls on... hopefully the happier side! Highly recommend!

My Review of Thorns and Forgiveness

As we left our heroine she had just learned that the man she was falling for was anything but the man he promised her to be. The whole time he was using her, just waiting for the right time to pull her out of his pocket, and use her to exact revenge on his family. Now she wants nothing to do with him.

She also learned that her mother had been keeping a few secrets of her own and her new happy life was starting to crumble because of them. Vera vowed to stand by her mother and save her from the disaster she created, and in doing so, she found herself making a deal with the devil. She made a promise to her step-grandfather that she has to keep in order to keep her mom safe, but with all deals like this one there is bound to be trouble.

Once again our heroine finds herself alone in a world she doesn't understand, and surrounded by people she cannot trust. That is until Hamilton comes back around. She knows it's best to keep her distance where he is involved, but he keeps finding a way to lure her back in!

Thorns and Forgiveness is the conclusion to the Twisted Legacy duet, and it comes brimming with everything needed to keep you on the edge of your seat. This couple started off on false pretenses but our hero has found that he made a horrible mistake and he wants his girl back, no matter the consequences. He'll beg for her time and attention if that's what it takes, but she is not the only one he will have to answer to, with his father now in the mix. She made a deal with the devil himself and now Hamilton feels it necessary to be the one to save her. But will he be able to work himself back into her good graces? Or lose her forever?

From beginning to end this one kept me thoroughly entertained, the words were rich with drama and intrigue... my eyes were glued to the pages desperate for answers! If you like your tales a little on the steamier side and full of drama then look no further, this is the perfect read for you!
