MY REVIEW OF FIRST AND GOAL:
Rob Falls is the star quarterback and constantly has girls falling over themselves to steal an ounce of his attention, but the only one he really wants to catch the attention of is Eva Papageorgiou. He has been carrying a secret crush around for her since ninth grade and has never had the nerve to make his move. But with his friends constant badgering and them coincidentally being paired up in Biology he thinks now is the time to make his feelings known.
But his plan hits a road block when he learns that Eva thinks he is just like the rest of the jocks at their school, the kind of guy who uses girls and tosses them away once they've had their fill. She has dated one and he was unkind to her and now she has made it her mission to avoid them at all costs. Which makes winning her over even tougher than Rob had anticipated.
But he isn't giving up, he wants his girl and if it takes a little more time to win her heart, then he will wait... however long it takes.
First and Goal is the first installment in the Moving the Chains series, and it shines a light on high school students Eva and Rob. The pair met their freshman year of high school and both have been crushing on one another since. But neither has ever been brave enough to go after what they wanted. Whether it be because of opportunity, dating other people, or misunderstanding. But now they are in their senior year and found themselves joined together for the sake of school work, and it doesn't take long for their crushes to make a reappearance. But past hurts and self doubt are also finding their way into the mix and it has these two hesitant about their feelings for one another. But as time passes and a newly minted friendship takes hold these two start to gain ground to what they have wanted all along...they are so close to having it all. But then tragedy strikes and we are left hanging in the balance wondering if their time is up already? Or is this just another tragic hurdle to overcome? I cannot wait to dive into the second installment and see where it leads me, hopefully a happier place then it left me. Highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it's bound to keep your eyes glued to the pages the whole way through!
MY REVIEW OF SECOND DOWN:
Rob can't un-see what he found along the trail that day, it's etched in his brain, and there is no way that he wants Eva to have to relive it. After suffering a concussion she has forgotten everything that happened that day, and doesn't understand why she is lying in a hospital bed covered in wounds.
But her family and therapist think for her healing it is necessary for her to learn about that day. It's a day no one wants to relive, but the only way to move on from it is to face it head on and deal with the fallout it causes... even if it breaks them in the process!
Once again we rejoin Eva and Rob amongst the pages of their heart-wrenching story. These two just found a little happiness and finally decided to give their romance a try, but tragedy struck and took it all away. Now Rob is barely able to face her and can't rid his mind of the constant reminders of that day. And she has no idea what happened to her, but once she learns there is no way she will look at her life the same way. It seems impossible for them to move past this tragedy and rediscover what they lost.
My heart broke for these two, what they endured was horrifying and painful beyond belief. Watching them struggle to find some sort of normalcy and attempt to move past all of the emotional damage was tough to digest at times, but I will continue to hold out hope that happier times are ahead. This one isn't for the feint hearted, it's words will break your heart, and leave you unsettled. There is no way you will walk away from it unscathed. Highly recommend!
MY REVIEW OF THIRD AND LONG:
From an outward appearance it looks as though Rob Falls has everything a guy could want, a flourishing football career, a Heisman nod, and the most beautiful girl by his side. But on the inside he is crumbling, the mounting pressures of his football career and his dedication to his girlfriend's safety is starting to take a toll on him. His perfect world is just about to crumble... all it will take is one tiny shift the wrong way!
It didn't take long to fall right back into the complicated lives of Rob and Eva, and become obsessed all over again. This time it was on a little happier terms, but these two are still struggling to get by. They are in different stages in their lives since our last visit and the mounting pressures that go along with their new lives have them both hanging on by a thread. They are doing a good job at putting on a brave face and keeping up with appearances, but on the inside they are both in complete turmoil... and it's bound to create havoc before long for them. Just as the first two installments, the words were addictive and rich with emotion, and of course your heart will be feeling the torture! I cannot wait to see how it all ends for these two! Highly recommend!
MY REVIEW OF FOURTH AND INCHES:
Rob and Evie are supposed to be living their dreams, but that isn't really the case at all. They may be together, but the happiness is starting to fade and old wounds are starting to resurface. But Rob is determined to not let love go by the wayside. He needs to be a better man for her, and help her out of the funk she has fell into. As well as make amends with all of the people he has strayed from as of late. It's now or never... he must prove his love or lose the girl!
This all consuming love affair has it's final chapter, and we find that Rob and Evie aren't living their best lives. Things have started to go array for them, but Rob is determined to do all he can to hold them together. In this final installment we see their personal growth, their pain, their love blossom, and old wounds finally start to heal. I loved every minute of this journey with them, even though they tortured my heart something fierce... it was all worth it! The happily ever after I waited for all along finally came and I could not be happier with the outcome. It was a beautiful love story with many ups and downs that left quite the impression on my heart. Highly recommend!
