Maya Hughes, that's me!, can often be found sneaking in another chapter while hiding in the bathroom from her kids! :-) I'm a romance writer who loves taking inspiration from everyday life, namely my husband and biggest fan. Inspiration also strikes when I hear a song, meet someone new or daydream while at soccer practice.
I love writing stories that capture the possibilities of the paths less travelled and enjoy experiencing life through my characters’ eyes.
I'm the mom of three little ones, the wife to an amazing husband and also work full time. Some of my favorite things are cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, white wine, laughing until I can't breathe, traveling with my family and Jeff Goldblum.

They were once everything to one another, but one little song changed everything. She shared things he wasn't comfortable with people knowing and he let his anger ruin everything. Now she stands before him again, still just as beautiful, and still with so much hatred for him in her eyes...
The Art of Falling For You is a beautifully penned story of young love, healing, and letting go. It was Bay's beautiful voice that united her and Dare, and also the voice that tore them apart. He was the hot jock that lived close by, and the boy she secretly crushed on for three long years before he finally took notice of her. Never being one to want to be in the spotlight or draw attention to herself they decide to keep their friendship a secret. In one other they found someone who carried the same grief and pain in their hearts, and a comfort they had never known. They brought a sense of peace to one another, found someone to keep their secrets, and truly understand them. They spent every spare moment they had together knowing that with graduation around the corner they'd soon have to say goodbye... but nothing could have prepared them for the way things ended.
My heart broke for these characters and all the painful things they had endured.. so much pain to carry at such a young age. But with all that pain there was some beauty to witness, I loved watching them open up to one another, heal each other's hearts, and bring out the best parts of each other. They truly were perfect for one another, and I really hope the next installment has them rediscovering the good parts of their relationship and finding what they lost four years ago. This story touched my heart, made me smile, and also reminded me just how sweet falling in love for the first time can be. I highly recommend you meet these characters they are destined to steal your heart!
